No matter if you're a high school golfer, college amateur, or a weekend warrior, it's important to bring water and snacks with you while you're on your journey through 18 holes and beyond. However, you don't want snacks that will melt or go bad in your golf bag. Here are some of our favorite snacks that stand up to the elements in your golf bag..
Baked Chips: Lays, Doritos,Puffs or similar baked snack.
Popcorn: Salted or Flavored. (Try to avoid the buttered version)
Beef Jerky: Try to stick with mild flavors as spicy versions may hurt your stomach.
Raisins: Regular ole Sun-maid raisins in a paper box are always a good pick
Nature Valley Granola Bars: When left in the wrapper, they store well. A little messy at times.
Peanuts: Dry roasted peanuts, almonds, cashews, etc. Always a good choice.
Seeds: Sunflower seeds are always a summer favorite that stores well.
Pretzels: Goes without explanation - these snacks store well.
Canned snacks: Snack beans and weenies are hearty and store well. Anything similar too.
What you want to do is stay away from snacks that melt, turn oily, or grow bacteria once introduced to heat and moisture. Stay away from most candy, cold cuts/meat, peanut butter, veggies in plastic, dairy or anything that normally requires refrigeration.
